Thanksgiving is right around the corner and through we have to make changes to how we facilitate our Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving we will indeed feed our community as in years past.
This year FPC will be providing Thanksgiving dinner by carry-out and may be picked up on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2020 between 12 Noon and 2 p.m. Boxed up meals will be distributed at the Glass Doors and heated tents will be available outside for those who do not have a place to eat their dinner to enjoy their dinner on Thanksgiving. The Kirk in the Hills will be providing 3-sided tents for this purpose. We will also deliver dinners to the various shelters or centers we have served in the past.
Volunteers are needed for cooking the turkeys on the 2 Saturdays before thanksgiving. Volunteers are also needed for food prep on Thanksgiving morning and for serving the meals into the carry-out containers and finally the final cleanup. Please note only the volunteers preparing the food and loading the containers will be downstairs. All of our guests will be outside. This is to provide an extra layer of safety due to the pandemic.
We look forward to your help. Please click on the link below for sign up. The sign up includes all the volunteer opportunities available. It also includes food items needed and a way to note a monetary donation for this meal. Any food or monetary donations may be mailed to the church or dropped off at your convenience. Office Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Thank you for all you do to support First Presbyterian and our ministries that faithfully serve the needs of our community. Thank you for your prayerful support and many ways you serve God and others.
